Christopher had his sleep test last night. Charlie and I took him to the appointment at 8:00pm. He was already tired....8:30 is usually when he goes to bed.
We were taken into a room that had two twin beds and lots of equipment, including a t.v. We tried to stick to Christopher's bedtime routine as much as possible. When it was time to get him all hooked up, we were led a different room. Christopher sat on my lap, while the technician started to put the electrodes on him.
Christopher screamed and fought the tech for about half the time. He had electrodes on his legs, chest, neck, and chin. He also had two bands wrapped around his chest. When it came time to put them on his head, he tried to fight, but was running out of energy. He then sat there and cried with a very angry look on his face. With 3 of the 25 electrodes left to go, he fell asleep. However, when they had to put some small prongs in nose to monitor his breathing, he woke up. He was crying even more. I felt so bad for him. I knew that he was going to have a hard night. (And so was I.)
We went back to our sleeping room and he was hooked up to the machines. Two more wires were attached to his arm and one was put on his finger. He hated that one the most. He kept looking at it and getting very angry.
After some soothing rubs and a quick reading of "Goodnight Moon" from mama he was asleep again. Charlie had to leave, because only one parent was allowed to stay with Christopher. I slept in the other bed....but not really. Every little noise I heard woke me up because I didn't know what it was.
Christopher woke up a few times, (nothing unusual) and would end up pulling a wire off. The tech had to come back in several times to put it back on. Although I know he did sleep, he didn't sleep as long as he normally does.
In the morning he was angry again because the tech had to take everything off. My poor, sad, baby. I felt so sad for him. Once everything was off and we left he was happy as could be.
As soon as we here anything about his test, we will be sure to let you know!

CAKE!
Christopher saw Isaac's birthday cake and decided that he really wanted to have some. After some research we found a cake mix that he can have. We made a frosting and Christopher helped decorate. He had almost as much fun making the cake as he did eating it! Yummy!!!

Health Update
The last few visits to Christopher's doctor we mentioned that he snores all time and seems to be having some trouble breathing when he becomes more active. We were referred to a sleep specialist and a pulmonary specialist.
Today we saw the sleep specialist and after much protest from Christopher, were told that there may be a possibility that he has sleep apnea and he may also need to have his tonsils removed. We have set up a sleep study, which will be Friday the 27th. We will hopefully be able to see what is going on.
Following the results of the sleep test, we may still need to see the pulmonary specialist because Christopher might have asthma or some other breathing problem.
As always we will keep you posted and deal with each hurdle as they come.
